Dancing in the Algarve

Dancing in the Algarve is not something uncommon, if we stop to consider that the Portuguese do share part of the hot blooded spirit of the Spanish, as well as a predilection for living life to the full. As one of the earliest and most sincere forms of human expression, dancing is forever part of our lives, so here is a list of future Algarve events that have to do with dance and music.

The capital city of Faro, Algarve is putting on its dancing shoes for the Gala Internacional de Danca at the Municipal Theatre. The Companhia de Danca do Algarve is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a gala on October 11th, starting at 21:30 hours. Celebrities of the Russian ballet world will be present, as well as Spanish and local artists and, for the ticket price of 15 Euro, you can also enter the glamorous world of professional dancing, at least for an evening.

For the little ones, there are creative dancing lessons going on between October 4th and December 31st, so children can be initiated in the first steps of this sport and art by teacher dance Carla Nunes. The price of lessons (for monthly subscriptions) varies between 15 and 20 Euro and lessons are held every Saturday.

To dance, you generally need music. And this is exactly what you can enjoy during the Jazz na Corte with Ricardo Coelho Project event. You need to hurry up and get to Herdade da Corte this coming Friday, on October 10th 2014 for this amazing event that features live modern jazz from great musicians like Dave Brubeck and Hermeto Pascoal. For just 4 Euro, you can enjoy this music delight and also dance swing to the innovative interpretation of Bach.

Can we invite you more warmly to the Algarve? Wherever you want to travel in the Algarve, do so on the enticing rhythms of Portugal!
