The monastery was meant to be not only a house of Christian worship, but also a way to boast about the greatest achievements of the Age of Discoveries.
- Belem is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Lisbon and its tower is the symbol of the city – another reminder of the glorious age of Columbus. You can go there with a Lisbon airport transfer to Lisbon city.
