A busy, sunny March 2015 in the Algarve
With the weather getting lovelier by the day here, by the welcoming shores of the Atlantic Ocean, everybody is getting ready for a busy, sunny March 2015 in the Algarve.
The list of exciting events in the Portuguese calendar, here are just a few that will give you just as many pretexts to come visit the Algarve.
An emerging city in Portugal is Quarteira, which is just about to receive more exposure with the new session of project presentation entailing commercial modernization. The session, named “Comercio Investe”, is bound to take place on March 6th at the Auditorium of the Centro Autarquico de Quarteira.
As the month of March progresses, it is the turn for Lagos and Loule to come to the fore with the 10th edition of the “Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen” Literary Contest, which is open until March 20th. Reading sessions, conferences, a workshop and various other activities are in store. The main purpose of the event is to promote reading among the youths, particularly the work of the well-known author. She will be honored on March 14th with an event held at the Library, with a projection of the short 1969 film “Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen”, followed by a Conference hosted by Helena Malheiro, where the life and work of the woman writer will be remembered.
Do you like Flamenco? If the answer is yes, then you are invited in Faro, at the Teatro das Figuras, where the UNESCO Intangible World Heritage of Flamenco will be celebrated between the 13th and 14th of March. The event will be preceded by a workshop held by the famous dancer Luna Fabiola. The show “Conexion Flamenca” is wonderfully dynamic visually and musically and will take place on the 13th. (Tickets cost 10 Euro, and a place in the workshop is 20 Euro).
