Religious destinations in the Algarve
The Algarve is many things to many people, and while many people may be aware of the region thanks to its great weather and wonderful beaches, there are quite a few Algarve visitors out there who come to the region to visit one or more of the plethora of religious destinations and sacred sites, and we’ll talk a bit about some of them.
Things to do in the Algarve: Surfing school
Going to Surfing school may not be the first thing that pops to mind when one plans a trip to the Algarve, but it’s definitely a consideration for the more adventurous thrill-seekers, who love to ride the waves.
Especially the South-Western corner of the Algarve is very popular with surfing enthusiasts from Europe and all across the world, because it is very similar to surfing a peninsula. The over twenty beaches in the region are all within maximum a half an hour drive of each other or your accommodation and they feature reefs, points, bowling beach breaks, not to mention warm blue waters.
Things to do in the Algarve: Zoomarine Algarve Park
The Zoomarine Algarve Park is a marine life themed park, located in Guia, Albufeira, which focuses on entertainment, leisure and environmental education.
The Algarve is known for stupendous beaches and wonderful, towering cliffs, making for great water activities and sunbathing, as well as a great nightlife meant for those who love to party once the sun sets. However for those who visit the area with their children there’s also the Zoomarine Algarve Park, a popular attraction in the region for a number of years.
Algarve monuments get renovated
There are plenty of Algarve monuments to look for and at while on your trip there, today we’ll be talking about just two of them that have undergone some recent renovations.
The town of Tavira has a very pretty little square, the Praca da Algoa, also known as the Bishop’s Square because of the statue of Antonio Maria Marcelino Franco that can be found there. Now the statue has been fully restored thanks to recent cleaning work that has been recently undertaken in the city.
2012 Portugal Masters
Yesterday, October 11th 2012, the Portugal Masters has started, attracting golfers from all around the world, willing and able to fight for the Portuguese trophy.
This year’s Portugal masters is taking place at the Oceanico Victoria Course, located in Vilamoura and has a total prize fund of 2.25 million Euros.
Plenty of well-known European golfers will be taking part in the golfing tournament with names such as Francesco Molinari from Italy, Martin Kaymer from Germany joining other golfing greats like Colin Montgomerie and Ross Fisher.
Algarve visitor satisfaction numbers are great
The Algarve visitor satisfaction has to be some of the highest possible considering it’s popularity. While it may be one of the most popular holiday destinations for Europeans, but that doesn’t mean that Europeans are the only visitors here, quite the contrary, and it appears that those tourists that come from Brazil show the highest satisfaction with their vacations in Portugal.
Or at least that’s what a recent ‘tourist satisfaction study’ released by Turismo de Portugal says. The overall level of tourist satisfaction is very high, stating that 34% of respondents enjoyed a holiday that was above their expectations, and a solid 85% percent of those asked said that they would certainly or probably return to Portugal within the next three years.
