Hosted by the Hilton Hotel, Portugal’s Biggest Coffee Morning in Vilamoura consists of a coffee and brunch meant to raise funds for Madrugada, an Algarve based organization that strives to provide care and palliative health support for patients with life limiting illnesses.

The aim of the project is to raise 60.000 EUR, so every cent brings Madrugada closer to their admirable target. The auction will be taking place in the town of Vilamoura, when the New York Stock Exchange will be listing that a real estate investment firm will be conducting an auction of 42 luxury resort homes

The President of the KW Auction Group – the group that will be staging the auction – said that he was quite confident that all the homes will be sold off because he felt the current market conditions will not play a major role in the projected success of the auction process.

The auction will be taking place on the 22^nd of June in Vilamoura, and based on past auctions, it is projected to be a success, or at least this is what the President of the real estate investment firm is saying. He did continue on to say that real estate auctions are not uncommon in developed countries regardless of the overall market conditions.

These luxury Algarve homes will have no starting bids, so the auction is meant to provide a great opportunity for year-round and resort homebuyers as well as investors to get some great properties at excellent prices. The home types that are to be auctioned off include one, two and three bedroom apartments.

It appears that five of the homes will be sold to the Highest Bidder with all the bids being subject to the acceptance of the Seller. The residences are located in four separate home collections: Monte Laguna, L’Orangerie, The Victoria Gardens and Sunset Villas, all of them featuring green areas alongside community pools.

The apartments range in size from 99 to 190 square meters.

This is the second time running that the Algarve golf region gets the top spot, ahead of Turkey and Murcia, getting forty-three percent of the votes. On the whole the Algarve was also the one to get the most awards – six in total.

This means that the Algarve also got the top awards in categories such as Best Golf Course in Portugal and Best Hotel/Resort in Portugal – the awards went to Oceanico Old Course in Vilamoura and Vale do Lobo respectively.

The Oceanico Golf CEO was thrilled with the news of winning the award and commented that it is testament to the hard work of the entire team that works there. The president of the Algarve Tourism Board also commented on the new awards saying that the Algarve golf has around forty golf courses and that more than one million rounds are played on these coruses each year. Today’s Golfer has only been giving out the Travel Awards for two years, however the magazine reaches more than two-hundred thousand British golfers each month in total, and that is the most important tourist market for the Algarve, not necessarily the golfers – although they are important – but the UK market in general.

This year’s Portugal masters is taking place at the Oceanico Victoria Course, located in Vilamoura and has a total prize fund of 2.25 million Euros.

Plenty of well-known European golfers will be taking part in the golfing tournament with names such as Francesco Molinari from Italy, Martin Kaymer from Germany joining other golfing greats like Colin Montgomerie and Ross Fisher.

However much of the attention will be focused on a young English golfer, Tom Lewis, who won the competition last year and is hoping to retain his title this year.

Six of the eight Portuguese nationals that will be taking place in the contest are professional golfers and they include Filipe Lima who had previously declined to take part in the Masters, but has since reconsidered.

The attendance is expected to be rather high because many people have watched the European golfers stage one of the biggest sports come-backs in history to beat the USA team in the Ryder Cup.

The Portugal Masters will not only be a great event for both golfers and golf lovers, but it should also bring some much-needed money to the Algarve, because according to a survey published in 2011, the Portugal Masters brought in 6.7 million Euros.

That same study went on to state that the media coverage created as a result of the Portugal Masters, created an extra eighty million Euros, thanks to it promoting Portugal and the Algarve region to golfers specifically but also tourists in general.

Actually, about half the visitors to the Portugal Masters that were polled in the same survey said that they were there exclusively because of the tournament, and fifty-nine percent of those asked said that they would strongly consider returning to the Algarve because of the tournament.
