1. Sagres
Sagres, located at the westernmost coast of the Algarve, is the most wild and untamed destination. Windswept, bleak landscapes, steep cliffs, and turbulent waves distinguish this location. The town of Sagres is small, and there aren’t as many tourist attractions.
It is, nonetheless, an excellent location for surfing and relaxing. The town has two beaches, one on the south coast and one on the west coast, you should definitely pay a visit!

2. Ferragudo
Ferragudo is a charming fishing village near the city of Portimo. Walking about this traditional fishing town, with its white buildings stretching down to the river, is an experience in and of itself. However, Praia Grande is also a terrific area to unwind and enjoy watersports like windsurfing.
Enjoy this beautiful location while having the great memories ever!

3. Lagos and Ponta da Piedade
Lagos is the liveliest town in the western Algarve and, in our opinion, one of the greatest places to base yourself. It offers a variety of cafés and restaurants, as well as historical sites such as castle walls, churches, and the Forte da Ponta da Bandeira. Combine this with its stunning coastline, which is dotted with steep cliffs, caves, and grottoes, and you have one of the Algarve’s most scenic places.
Come and visit this amazing place, you won’t regret it!

4. Ria Formosa’s Island
The Ria Formosa, a 60-kilometer-long maze of lagoons, salinas (salt pans), marshes, barrier islands, and dunes along the central Algarve coast, is one of the best sites to explore in the Algarve.
This protected natural park, one of Portugal’s ’7 Natural Wonders,’ is also a wildlife haven.
This region of the Algarve is known for its Mediterranean Chameleons, bird viewing – particularly seasonal flamingos – and a wealth of seahorses, with dolphins frequently spotted further out.
It’s a breathtaking landscape, don’t miss this extraordinary experience!

5. Monchique
Hills rise gently between the Algarve coast and the neighboring region of Alentejo before becoming mountain ranges. The highest and most prominent is the Serra de Monchique, which offers a verdant playground far removed from the coastal vacation cities.
If you’re seeking for hiking paths and peaceful landscapes, the Algarve’s serra (mountain region) has some of the best active activities. Fóia, the region’s highest peak, rises to just over 900 meters and is accessible by car. On a clear day, one may see beautiful views of the Algarve and the Atlantic Ocean from here.
It’s a peaceful blessing being here!

Enjoy the most remarkable and beautiful places in Algarve, always counting on Faro Transfers, for easy and high quality taxi services and Faro Car Hire for car rentals, for amazing trips and unforgettable moments with your family and friends!

The Algarve, in southern Portugal, is a special location since it has 150 kilometers of coastline that faces the Atlantic Ocean. The area is one of the most developed tourist destinations in all of Europe and offers the ideal blend of natural beauty and historic legacy.
The Algarve, which is frequently mistakenly referred to as Portugal’s “mass tourism” zone, yet has a wealth of choices for a vacation rich in both culture and nature.

1.Praia do Camilo
One of the most well-liked beaches in the Algarve is Praia do Camilo, and it is simple to understand why. The beach is certainly a paradise with its golden sands, pure waters, and beautiful vistas.
The beach, the sea, or the adjacent cliffs and caves can all be visited while tourists are there. Although most visitors come here to set up shop for the day and lounge in the sun, the beach’s length of over 600 meters makes it ideal for a leisurely stroll along the water’s edge.

2.Praia dos Irmaos
One of the Algarve’s most alluring beaches is the Three Brothers Beach (praia dos Tres Irmaos). It is a very well-liked beach among Portuguese people, making it the perfect site to spend a day at the shore while taking in the Algarvian sun and the idyllic blue seas that fall into the cliff’s rock.
Praia dos Tres Irmaos has a highly appealing characteristic that “almost” makes it unique. Through tunnels cut into the rock, you can access numerous beaches and coves of unending beauty that are connected to it.

3. Ponta da Piedade
Ponta da Piedade is a point located west of the city of Lagos. Exploring the seaside rock formations in the Algarve is one of the coolest things to do, and this is surely one of the finer examples.
Erosion has created several incredible features, including pinnacles, arches, and sea caves. Its location, which offers breathtaking views of the coastline in all directions, makes it a great site to watch the sun rise and set! You can either go down the 190 stairs or take use of the many lookout points from the top of the cliffs to get a better view of the cove with the arches.

4.Tres Castelos
Tres Castelos is a fairly large town on the coast that is situated right in the middle of it. In a particular spot, the sea stack is incredibly close to the tall cliff, making the distance between them impressive to cross.
As you move between the stacks, you feel quite little, yet isn’t it wonderful what mother nature can do to something as robust as rock? It is among the Algarve’s most magnificent sites without a doubt.

5. Sagres
The Algarve’s southernmost point, the shore of Sagres, is the greatest location to watch dolphins. From the shore or by taking a boat tour from one of the local towns, you may observe marine life.
Due to the powerful waves, the location is also well-liked by surfers. Numerous bike and hiking routes can be found along the cliffs, and if you’re searching for isolation, here is the finest location to uncover secret bays and less-visited beaches. One of the best things to do in the Algarve for nature enthusiasts is to explore this shoreline.

You can always count on receiving excellent taxi services and car rentals while enjoying the most special moments of your life and creating priceless memories with your family and friends in the Algarve with the assistance of Faro Low Cost Transfers and Faro Car Hire.

Welcome to Algarve, one of the most attractive sunny places from Portugal, adorned with lovely hot sands, crystal clear waters and amazing vibrating atmosphere!
Blessed with a marvelous coastline and some of the country’s loveliest beaches, the province enjoys hot dry summers and short mild winters. Warm sea temperatures and gentle winds add to its allure.
The privileged location in the south of Portugal and the many hours of sunshine turns Algarve into one of the favorite holiday destinations ever! There are plenty of things to do in Algarve, the perfect place to relax away from the hustle of the city life, where you will definitely have a great time. Come and discover Algarve’s misteries and marvels!

Faro, the capital city of the Algarve, and its international airport is the gateway for many tourists arriving in southern Portugal. Proud of its maritime heritage, Faro remains a busy and colorful port, a charming city that’s definitely worth visiting at least once in a lifetime.
It is the Old Town, however, that sightseers will want to visit. Enclosed by solid defensive walls, Faro’s Cidade Velha sits on Roman and Moorish foundations. This is one of the most attractive locations, surrounded by magical old churches including a magnificent cathedral, fascinating little squares and white washed cobbled streets with an impressive range of restaurants and cafes.

Another breathtaking location is Sagres, the southwesternmost town in Portugal, which has two points of interest you can’t miss: Cape St. Vincent and Sagres Fortress. Sagres has a profound history and a unique charm. Since the Middle Ages, this edge of Europe was considered “the end of the world”.
A paradise for nature lovers, Cape St. Vincent is, not surprisingly, a nature reserve since 1988, given the number of species that make this place their home, such as sea otters, herons and Bonelli’s eagles.
The Cape of St. Vincent combines nature, culture and myth. Come and discover this marvelous place, where the green lush exceeds any dreams or expectations, where the nature and naturality reign and where you can feel and almost touch the magnitude of nature. The Cape of St. Vincent and the surrounding area is one of the rare places where the geographical location, a wild but majestic nature, and historical factors combine with a mythical dimension.
Apart from its outstanding wildlife, the area is rich in history with evidence of occupation dating back to prehistoric times. There are also remnants of Roman and Phoenician settlements in the area. Ancient Greek chroniclers described Cabo de São Vicente as ”the end of the inhabited earth”.
The imposing lighthouse from Cape St. Vincent contains the largest warning light in Europe for both marine and air traffic. Here there’s a bird-watching festival every October which will definitely astonish the bird lovers.

Lagos is the western Algarve’s liveliest resort town, as well as a great historical significant location, as prince Henry the Navigator launched Portugal’s Age of Discovery from Lagos in the 15th century.
Lagos is one of the cities in Algarve visitors love the most, which has gracefuly maintained its authenticity. The town has a young, cheerful vibe, as well as a wealth of historic attractions and entertaining things to do.
When you visit Lagos, take some time to lose yourself in the alleys of its historic centre and enjoy the atmosphere of this city.
After visiting the historic centre, discover the Fort of Ponta da Bandeira, built in the 17th century. Here you can admire the small, but beautiful Chapel of Santa Bárbara, covered with glazed tiles and mesmerizing landscapes.
Located near the port city of Lagos, Ponta da Piedade is an exceptional natural place, offering a stunning view over Cape St. Vincent, with beautiful cliffs, arches and caves.
The town’s medieval collection of castle walls and graceful churches always captures the imagination of passers by, but it’s the coastline that enchants the visitors and tourists. In this idyllic place you can enjoy the most beautiful moments with your family and friends!

Associated with the fishing activity for centuries, Alvor flourished in time and, nowadays, most of its economy is dependent of the tourism industry.
In this absolutely enchanting corner of paradise you can admire some places like the Misericórdia Church, the town market (mercado municipal) and Ria de Alvor, a place where you’ll find beautiful different birds’ species.
One of the outstanding places is represented by the vast Alvor Beach, where you can relax and enjoy the warm weather and hikes in the biggest walkway in Algarve.

Considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Algarve region, Carvoeiro is an adventurous and nature embracing postcard for those eager to visit southern Portugal.
Besides from the amazing bubbly beaches like Carvoeiro Beach and Vale Centeanes Beach, you’ll also have other points of interest you won’t want to miss. Surrounded by spectacular natural scenery, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful beaches, this popular resort town has everything you could want when seeking a relaxing getaway.
After enjoying the beautiful landscape, you can enjoy the fascinating wooden walkway that connects the site of the ruins of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação Fort to Algar Seco, a small 570-metre walk. This walkway is definitely one of the most beautiful in Algarve, where you can admire the beautiful bluffs and natural “windows” carved by the sea and wind erosion, especially in the Algar Seco location.
Another place you can’t miss during your visit to Carvoeiro and surrounding areas is the Algar de Benagil. This place is only accessible by sea, but it’s definitely a place you’ll want to explore! Don’t miss the chance to discover one of the most beautiful places in Portugal!

Enjoy the biggest adventure with your family and friends, always counting on Lagos Car Hire, which provides excellent safely car rental conditions for amazing and unforgettable adeventures!

The Algarve city of Sagres has a very rich history and lots of natural heritage.

The Algarve city of Sagres has a very rich history and lots of natural heritage. It has been dubbed as a ‘sacred promontory’ by ancient philosophers and is one of the globe’s major reference points in regards to prehistoric menhirs however, despite all of these fact its recognition as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO has not been granted.

This initial lack of success has not put off tourist boss Desiderio Silva, who has announced that the RTA tourism authority will be restarting its work to put the ancient town on the world map of cultural heritage.

In a statement he made to Sul Informacao he stressed the fact that this process will demand a lot of serious hard work alongside a huge dose of patience and persistence and a lot of work on the ground. The statement was made following the first exploratory meeting with the president of UNESCO who was in Lisbon recently.

This will be the second time that the Portuguese will be bidding to win heritage acclaim for Sagres. The RTA president in 2002, Paulo Neves, made the first bid but it then ended up on the back burner.

The region’s culture boss – Dalia Paulo – said that this time they’ll want to go for a very technically-consistent proposal that is very well worked out from a scientific point of view.

This means that the bid will be ‘more modest’ than the last but the RTA, the regional culture board and Vila do Bispo Camara – its promoters – are confident that it will be successful.
