Dear friends, we are back with the 9 perfect tourist attractions to visit in Portugal this summer – Part 3 sees us going through the last three attractions of choice on our list. And today we go north, all the way to Porto and its surrounding areas, the sunny Douro Valley plains, where the hallmark Port wine is produced, and the small villages with cobblestone winding streets…

The North of Portugal is the industrial region, recognized as the richer and more somber side of the country. You can travel here easily with a Porto airport transfer. You can also travel from there to the other corners of the country should you like to lodge in the north during your stay.

7. Porto has a lot of mainstream sites to boast with, but also a lot of hidden, secret and wonderful sites, such as the Lello Bookstore, dubbed the most beautiful library in the world. Any bookworm traveling around the Globe should go there for a cup of coffee and a good book to browse through.

8. If you want to rent a car in Porto, you can afford to travel outside the city as well. In this case of figures, you should take a ride to Vila Nova de Gaia. the “barcos rabelos” accosted in the harbor make for a colorful and idyllic landscape. A trip top this typically northern-Portuguese town can serve as a perfect city break option.

9. And here we are, at the end of our list. What should our last Portuguese suggestion be? Can we end our list so soon? First off, you must remember these are just mere suggestions, the list doesn’t really ever end. So here it is: Cais da Ribeira, a labyrinth of winding streets and narrow alleys facing the beautiful riverfront of the majestic Douro River.

Have a great time in Portugal this summer!

Today we have prepared Part 1: Lisbon city, the capital city of Portugal and one of the proudest cities in the country and the world. Trust us, this is not an exaggeration. Fun fact: did you know that actually Lisbon is older than Rome? It also used to be a center of Colonialism in the aftermath of the Great Age of Discoveries, so don’t be surprised that this beautiful corner of Heaven on the European Continent has so much to show.

Here are some great attractions never to miss in Lisbon:

The Lisbon Oceanarium is one of the most impactful and wondrous aquariums in Europe and also one of the largests in the whole wide world. You can take your kids there, you can spend an exciting afternoon with your partner and you can learn everything about the sea life that is part of Portugal’s identity.

One of the greatest symbols not only of Lisbon, but the entire Portugal is the 16th century amazing Monasterio dos Jeronimos, a UNESCO World Heritage recognized site. The monastery was meant to be not only a house of Christian worship, but also a way to boast about the greatest achievements of the Age of Discoveries.

Belem is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Lisbon and its tower is the symbol of the city – another reminder of the glorious age of Columbus. You can go there with a Lisbon airport transfer to Lisbon city.

Summer is here and it is the very best time to be in Portugal, by the ocean, drinking a cocktail and reading a good book on the rocky beaches. Today we give you 10 Places not to miss in Portimao, a city that in itself is not to be missed if you are ever in the sunny and shiny Algarve.

Praia da Rocha is the most famous and transited beach in Portimao. It offers some of the most staggering views of the Atlantic Ocean, bordered by the dramatic cliffs that dominate the sea landscape of the Algarve.

The Portimao Museum is an award-winning cultural establishment, one that harbors some of the most famous archeological relics in the entire Algarve. It is a destination not to miss. I know I, for one, never leave a town without visiting a museum, so this is my recommendation for the day.

Canico Restaurant is a place to visit to satiate your hunger. You can enjoy the local delicacies in a wonderful ambient, surrounded by the wonderfully scenic landscapes of the sea (actually – never forget: the Atlantic Ocean)!

TEMPO might mean “time” in Portuguese. But it also stands for Teatro Municipal de Portimão, the local theatre, where you can see some of the best reenactments of modern and classical plays alike.

The best sightseeing spot in Portimao is the Portimao Marina. It is the place where everyone comes to take a picture (or a boat). It is also the place where old and young people alike can come to take their first surf lessons. And let’s not forget that Portugal is one of the best places where you can practice this sport

If you need a lift, you can rent a car in Portimao and the best thing is you will get a very good rate if you know where to look. (Start by looking online, actually).

Dear lovers of flowers and heart-shaped boxes, as we prepare for the beautiful day when love seems to be more palpably than ever in in the air, let’s explore some more options for a romantic Valentine’s Day in Portugal – Part 2 is sure to bring us closer to finding the ultimate destination in your favorite country.

Portugal may not be as vastly explored a tourist destination as its sister neighbor, Spain, but it is a lovely place, full of wonder and romanticism and it is worth giving credit, as in the last years its tourist industry has been on the rise.

The search for romantic destinations in Portugal is definitely not a difficult one. The country attracts thousands of people to its center and by default to its lovely capital city, Lisbon. Even a tram ride in one of the yellow cable cars in Lisbon (a trademark of the town) can be a romantic journey. But Lisbon has even more to offer.

Lisbon is an outstanding destination, where you can get a boat trip on River Tagus. You will see a great part of the city as you sway gently on the waves of the beautiful river. You can also climb the miradouros. These are high points, basically, from which you can look down on the red rooftops of the various neighborhoods nesting in the valleys made by the seven intertwined hills.

And one of the most romantic walks in the city is one through Alfama, the oldest and most authentic neighborhood in Lisbon. There you will see old traditional houses with wide windowed balconies decorated with plants and with laundry hanging from strings to dry in the wind, azulejos-covered facades, winding cobblestone streets and you can kiss your lover in the colorful decor of the buzzing life here.

You can also get a Lisbon tour and see all the highlights of the city with your better half.

You’ll also want to visit Tel-Aviv, get a good look at the Mediterranean and even possibly visit neighboring Egypt. When you begin searching out all the attractions Israel vacations have to offer, you’ll also notice that there are best Israel tours available to help with navigation and time management. Plus, you’ll have great guides to help make your trip more enjoyable.

The Best Places To Visit During Israel Vacations

As you can well imagine, one of the best Israel tours available and best attractions in Israel is the old city of Jerusalem. Here you walk through an entire city visiting many historical sites that you’ve read about from ancient times. This city is thousands of years old, so you’re going to have quite the experience. This is one way to really kick off your first among many Israel vacations, touring an entire city from years past that is more than just interesting, and be sure to take plenty of pictures.

You’ll also want to visit the Israel Museum and Masada National Park. Featured next, however, is The Western Wall Tunnels. This is one of the best Israel tours you can take, and if you think the name sounds intriguing, you need to look at the pictures. It reminds you of watching an old movie and seeing the people walk through an ancient town with a torch. Reviews point to an attraction that all Israel vacations should plan for, and The Western Wall Tunnels are in Jerusalem.

You’re also going to want to visit the Ramon Crater, Old Jaffa, Yad Vasehm, which is the Holocaust Memorial and Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Are you ready for the next featured attraction? You have to visit the Mount of Olives while traveling through Israel, right? In fact, one reviewer talks about how this is a good attraction to actually begin your tour of Jerusalem with. For starters, you’re going to be high up there with a great view of the city. One person suggests that you have a tour guide so that you get all the information and are not just showing yourself around.

Since the warm season is quick to come to the Portuguese shore in the Algarve, holidaymakers all around the world are already making preparations for their coming vacations. But there are some of them who have taken a particular liking to the country of “Fado” and “azulejos”. Let’s see why he British keep flooding Portugal!

We know that the UK remains one of the most powerful European states, so the living conditions here are still pretty decent. So it’s only logical that the British be some of the greatest travelers around the world. It just so happens that one of their favorite European destinations is Portugal.

According to TravelZoo, 30% of Britons rank Portugal as their number one choice of a holiday destination. Why?

Well, we do have to admit the English have been known to be a bit stingy. So a low cost option will always be a top priority for them. The Portuguese seaside is one of the cheapest in the world, without compromising the quality of the services, the beaches and lodgings facilities.

Also, the British love golf. Well, you’ve guessed it: the Algarve is probably the best golf destination in Europe, definitely one of the best in the world. There are also lots of services revolving around the golf “industry”, if we can call it such. You can hire golf clubs in Faro Airport, book an Algarve golf transfer or rent a car in Lagos to travel not only to the golf courses, but also to all the Algarve destinations of interest.

Some retired British citizens choose to come to Portugal and live the remainder of their lives in the quiet and beauty provided by the Atlantic and its rocky shores. That is also because the price of property here is very affordable. You can have a two bedroom apartment in Albufeira for just a little above 100.000 EUR.

All things considered, the British are smart people!

So you’d have to sacrifice the beauty of soft, pristine snow. But think about the comfort and the beauty of spending Christmas and the New Year’s Eve in a warm place for a change, like the ever sunny seaside of Portugal. Today we travel through 3 Algarve Cities to visit during the winter season this year.

Where to start? Probably it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to start off from the airport. Just as you land, take a Faro transfer and ask them to drop you off downtown. There, you can enjoy the splendid decoration and the booming life of a truly outstanding Portuguese port and both cultural and economic hub. Faro city is the capital of the region and the home of countless museums, restaurants and old style plazas that come to life in incandescent colors just as soon as the sun sets.

If you want to know, the spirit of Christmas is in no way linked to the cold of the Western part of the world, where it’s freezing outside and snowflakes gather on the pavement. But if snow is what you like, you should know the Portuguese have already heard about fake snow and you have great chances of finding this in Lagos. Here, you can also stop by Lagos car hire to get a good two pairs of wheels to travel around the Algarve in search of the Christmas lights.

And the third suggestion for today is Tavira. This wonderfully elegant city in the Algarve has a beautiful promenade by the Gilao River. The area is lined with cafes and restaurants where you can stop for a cup of tea and watch the beautiful Christmas lights reflecting in the calm waters of the river. The parties at some of the local venues will also bring a smile on your face in the night between the years.

Make your pick!

Join the thousands of national and international visitors, as well as the locals and enjoy the best August 2015 Events in the Algarve!

Join the thousands of national and international visitors, as well as the locals and enjoy the best August 2015 Events in the Algarve!

August and September are high season on the Portuguese shores of the endless Atlantic Ocean, so there is much entertainment to speak of, a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. Here’s what you can enjoy during the following weeks in the region:

From August 7th until the 16th of the month, you are all invited to delve deep into the tumultuous, but fascinating past of the Algarve in the Silves Medieval Festival 2015. Silves town is definitely the best setting for such display of history and colour. The picturesque medieval town center will be the arena for princes and princesses, Moors, jesters and knights. You can blend in if you get a costume and sit down for a meal and a drink. The events begin every evening from 6 PM and end at 1 AM and the entry ticket is only 2-3 EUR. To attend the jousting tournament, you need to pay 5 EUR, but they’ll be worth every… eurocent.

For one day, between the 8th and 9th August, Portimao will be the center of the Algarve, hosting the huge inflatable water slide measuring 300 m in length and promising American-style fun! For 5 EUR per slide, you can test its slope and for 85 EUR, you can have unlimited fun for the entire day.

In Lagoa, between the 21st and the 30th of August, you can attend one of the greatest festivals in the Algarve, Fatacil 2015, having got to its 36th edition. There will be fairs with handicrafts, tourist offers, food and drink for everyone.

To move freely around the Algarve, you can either rent a car in the Algarve or book a Faro airport transfer.
